His generosity in donating an abundance of his work has allowed the creation of one of Winnipeg's most beautiful, serene and inspiring off-the-beaten-track quiet spots. Think of the fortune he could have made selling these treasures, others of which are publicly displayed and revered in distant places. Now that's remarkable dedication to bettering his adopted hometown!

Mr. Mol is an extremely talented and generous person. Winnipeg is fortunate that this Ukrainian refugee found his home here and stayed to benefit us all.

He is one MAN who transcends the limits of Manitoba and has achieved world fame. I have met him once in Spain and have followed his career from afar. Love the Winnipeg Sculpture gardens! Manitobans you are lucky to have had him!!

An extremely talented individual. World-reknowned. Museum/art school named after him in St. Petersburg. It is truly unfortunate that Manitobans as a whole do not realize what a giant of the art world resides in their midst.

We travel the world to marvel at artistic wonders created by the likes of Leo Mol. Our own sculpture gardens, thanks to our Leo Mol, is beautiful and moving and in a class of it's own. If you haven't been there yet, then go and be proud that Leo is truly a great Manitoban.

I find his art to be somewhat disturbing. The models he used must have felt a little strange having an older man asking them go do such revealing poses. By today's standards his art is considered to be child porn.

I saw the sculpture in Washington, DC and I saw the sculptures at the Ukrainian Village in Alberta. Both are phenomenal pieces of work, especially the life-like scupture of an early immigrant family at the Ukrainian Village....oh yes, DJ, they were dressed in the traditional garb of clothing worn by the early Ukrainian settlers who helped open the Canadian West. It is so appropriate that you pen a racial slur but refuse to put your name to it.

He is a truly phenomenal artist who could have lived anywhere in the world but always chose to return to his adopted COuntry, province and city. As for the comment that his work would be considered child porn, you must remember he was once a young man and if you hear his story he started sculpting when he was a child. It is natural that as he grew up and became a man, he would have young female models. The works in the Leo Mol Gardens reflect a lifetime of work not just recent. Manitobans should be so honoured that this man not only thought enough of our province to call it home but to also donate such a wonderful and lasting legacy to the people.
