  • Gabrielle taught at an all boys school in St. B. She lived in the area and her former home is now a museum. I think she comes in as one of Manitoba's amazing women.

  • The work of Gabrielle Roy has been, is being, and will be read not just in Canada, but in countries around the world. One recalls meeting at Cite Universitaire in Paris, students from Romania, Thailand, Japan, and Egypt, among others, who had all read and loved her books. They said it inspired in them a love of Canada. We can be proud of this Great Manitoban and her immortal work.
